Testimony of Energy Star from Konnie Bostleman I moved into a new home built by Jim Moline in January 2007. Due to Jim’s energy efficient building, my heating and cooling bills have been significantly lower than in my previous homes even though fuel costs are higher. My house holds the heat so well that I am able to keep the temperature set a few degrees lower than I had in the past. My basement is so warm (temp is holding at 69 degrees) that I have not turned on the furnace in that area yet and it is already January. It is nice not to have any areas where you can feel a draft.
